"I had a lot of Tamil customers earlier. But after the bomb blast in the Trincomalee market in April 2006, they stopped coming here to buy commodities. I come here every other day to sell curry leaves. I buy my products in Katale, therefore I can't come daily" says a curry leaves seller in Trincomalee public market, W.Leelawathi Ratnawathi (65)

"After the bomb blast in the Trincomalee public market, the business is not good. I am loosing money daily, rather than earning money, because I am selling bananas. If I do not sell them quickly, they get spoilt" says a banana seller at the Trincomalee public market Anantha (40)

"I have put up small fruit stall here now. I had a big fruit stall before the bomb blast. But after the bomb blast I had not enough business, and I could not run the big fruit stall, since there was not enough business. The Tamils in Trincomalee have put up another market, and the most of the Tamil customers go there due to fear" says a fruit seller at the Trincomalee public market Wickremasinghe (42)
